What is Workation?
Workation is a blend of remote work and vacation.
It doesn’t have to mean dropping everything and heading to Thailand for a month (though that’s an option too!) — it’s more about changing your surroundings without stepping away from your professional responsibilities.
It’s a way to recharge without fully disconnecting from work.
You work as usual, but after hours you might stroll through an Italian town, dive into the ocean, or enjoy dinner with a mountain view.
The trend gained momentum after the pandemic, when many companies shifted to remote or hybrid models. Today, it’s no longer an extravagance — it’s a way to take a "vacation without taking time off."
How to choose the perfect Workation location?
Before you book your dream spot, make sure to check the practical stuff.
🔌 Reliable internet & a workspace – no Wi-Fi, no workation. Test the connection speed (e.g. with Speedtest), ask the host about a proper desk, chair, noise levels, and mobile signal.
If you’re traveling with family, find out if there’s a separate room where you can work in peace.
🌍 Time zone – does it match your working hours?
A different daily rhythm can be refreshing — or tricky. Just know what you're signing up for.
☀️ Climate & vibe – choose a place that gives you energy.
Mountains, seaside, or city life? There’s no wrong answer — go with what your soul (and body) needs right now.
🏥 Infrastructure – shops, coworking spaces, access to medical care?
You can work from the middle of nowhere, but make sure you’re well-prepared and aware of what that means. :)

More and more countries now offer what’s called a digital nomad visa – special permits that allow you to live and work remotely from abroad, legally.
Sounds pretty great, right? Here are a few key things to know:

Workation can be a bit tricky — you're working remotely, but staying abroad. And that sometimes complicates the formalities. Here’s what you should check:
✅ Legality of working abroad – If you're a remote worker staying abroad temporarily, you generally don't need a work permit as long as you're not providing services to local clients. EU citizens can travel and stay in other EU/Schengen countries for up to 90 days without a visa. For non-EU destinations, always check the entry and visa requirements — rules vary depending on the country. Use reliable, official sources when researching regulations.
💸 Taxes and tax residency – In most cases, you'll continue paying taxes in your home country if you're staying abroad for a short period. However, living longer in a foreign country may affect your tax residency status. To avoid unexpected issues, it’s best to consult a tax advisor, especially for longer stays or frequent travel.
🩺 Health insurance – Within the EU, EU citizens can use the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for basic public healthcare. Outside the EU (or for non-EU citizens), it's essential to have private travel or health insurance that covers medical expenses abroad.

The price depends sctrictly on the supplier's offer and I am sending their provision-free offer to you.
